Wow! Thanks for sharing your commentary and your photos with all of us. I'm planning a trip in November--a mere 17 weeks away, now--and had been thinking about Orvieto, looks great!

Beautiful photographs, Diane. I'm wondering, does everyone use photoshop to fine tune their digital pictures? Your mention of saturating the colors caught my attention. I'm always disappointed with the colors in my photographs. I suppose it's the haze that reduces the color impact that I remember so vividly. I have to thank you, especially, for your last picture in the Varenna section -- with the sun tucked behind the hills and that blue-violet color that words cannot communicate. Those are the very colors that make me hold my breath when I visit Lago Maggiore. I'll just look at your photograph and pretend. J.

Gorgeous photos. Thanks for taking the time to put up your site.

We also loved Bilacus in Bellagio.

(This posting got lost the first time I tried. There's been some talk of this on the Fodor's site, but it's the first time it happened to me.)

jmw44: I find that PhotoShop does a good job in intensifying colors. I'm sure other photo programs do the same. Some people prefer black and white, but I'm a color-photo person. Some people over-intensive color and the photos look unreal. It's important to understand that a minimal amounts usually work well enough.

I'm glad to see that you are enjoying my journals. It's wonderful to share this with others who have helped me along the way.

Luvtotravel, Great notes and wonderful photos! We will be in Bellagio September 9 through September 15, 2006. We are staying at II Perlo Panorama. Your photos make us extra excited for this great trip! We will definitely post our pictures and travel notes when we return. See our site of former European adventures Home.wi.rr.com/tomshirl

How fun, luvtotravel sharing with LuvToRoam. Isn't it great fun to build a website and share experiences and photos? I looked at your website. Nicely done. I liked the shot above Vernazza.

I'm looking forward to seeing your photos from Lake Como. I hope you have a wonderful time in Bellagio.

After coming home I was thinking about skipping travel next year and concentrating my money and vacation time on fixing up my condo, but the thought of travel stays with me. I know I won't be able to resist -- I'm addicted.
