Do you mean Les Marronnies. If so what city? There is more than one, besides Paris there is one in Provence.

pj: <BR><BR>You're probably speakingabout <BR>"Pension Aux Marronniers"<BR> 78, rue d'Assas, Paris 6th.<BR><BR>A pretty residential neighborhood in southern St. Germain.<BR>It's quite a walk to the next metro stop.<BR>I think they tend to take guests for long-term stays.<BR>Do a search here. I remember having seen some <BR>favorable posts about it.<BR><BR>Hotel "Les Marronniers" would be a 3-star hotel on 21, Rue Jacob, 6th<BR><BR>Another would be "Les Marronniers" in the 13th, Blvd. Arago, 53bis

The 3* hotel on rue Jacob is Hotel DES Marronniers, not LES Marronniers.

If memory serves, this hotel was panned in summer 2001, here on the site. Have you tried some research? A friend in Paris said it used to be okay, but there are better now.

Abc, it shows up more online as Des Marronniers, but occasionally as Les (see google); however, the hotel calls itself Des--not to be OCD about this, but it does differentiate it from the one in the 13th.<BR><BR>Also, x, which of these 3 hotels are you referring to as being panned?

Hm, Sue, you are probably right about them wanting to differentiate. The one in 13th might be a dump or at least location is not 1st class.<BR><BR>Now, where is pj?

I agree. It would be helpful to know specifically which Marrioners is the one that's not good.

Simply access "France" and search on Marronniers, and read for yourself! Apparently Hotel Des Marrionniers is owned by the Hotel Seine people, and it gets decidedly mixed reviews. Take a look - e.g., Anna's remarks 6/13/02, 11:10 p.m. Later on, Elvira. Seems to me that you can do better byt simply skipping this hotel (in the 6eme there are many charmers!). Why not check out some guidebooks, the Cheap Hotel book too.

Thanks for all the replys. I should have been more specfic sorry! Pension Les Marrioners in Paris 78 rue D'Assas.<BR>Rates 54 to 82 euro for doubles. Includes breakfast and dinner. There are also triples. It is a b/b overlooking luxemburg gardens. Any one stayed there? PJ

I did a search on this site for this pension and did not come up with any threads. I am a frugal traveler and I do my own research. I just wanted some first hand experience. THanks for your replys so far. PJ
