Peace monument in Paris
When I was in Paris last week, quite by accident we stumbled on this incredibly beautiful and moving peace monument. It was made of steel and glass, surrounded by freestanding columns and had the word peace written all over it in different languages. It was especially beautiful at twilight, and we could see the Eiffel Tower through an opening. I think it was near Invalides. Does anyone know anything about this? It occurred to me that it may have been erected post-9/11, but in any case, I'd love to know more about it. It was lovely.

Sounds like the Peace Wall in the Champs de Mars? That was constructed as part of the millenium festivities, I think, just general peace in the world ideas. The designer was Clara Halter. It has its own web site, actually, here it is
http://www.murpourlapaix.com/site/

oh, just found a mirror site in English:
www.wallforpeace.com
