Are you sure it's not expired? I thought that teenagers' passports were only good for 5 years, which would have been three years ago. I think I'd renew it, anyway. No need to subject yourself to intense scrutiny if your photo looks markedly different than you look now.

It seems to me most immigration officials are smart enough to realize that appearance changes between 16 and 24, and that some people go on diets. ;-)

Forgive me if my math isn't very good this morning, but if you got your passport when you were 16, and you are now 24, that's eight years. If it expires in 2011, another four years, that's a total of 12 years, or maybe 11 if you were nearly 17 when your passport was issued and you are now just 24. Adult passports are good for ten years.

I would renew it, like I said, to avoid any potential problems. I know our kids' passports expired in five years, for the same reason-- people's faces change as they grow up.

If you've got the time, why not just renew it? Our renewal recently took just 8 weeks, from mid-August to mid-October. We didn't expedite.

I applaud you for losing 200 pounds, that is quite a feat. =D> I would renew to avoid any possible problems.

MaureenB, I got my first passport at 16 and it was an adult passport. I think age 15 is the highest age when a child's passport would be issued, but I'm not sure.
