Park Lane Sheraton in London - 5 Stars?
I got a good deal at the Park Lane Sheraton (50% off using Starwood points) but wonder after reading Fodors "Raves and Rants" if it is really a 5 star hotel. Any recent feedback would be appreciated.

Yes- it is definitely 5 stars- the rooms are HUGE by European standards-
Ask for a room overlooking the back park- that way, there is no noise....
You are one block from Harrods and the tube. WE loved it!!!

Hi:
I stayed there 6 nights in October 2002 using Starpoints.
It is a five star hotel however, I found the desk clerk to be a bit snide in his remarks when he found out I was using Starpoints for free nights and half price promotion for the rest of the stat. I left my Mother in the lobby and went to check the room we had been assigned. It was not nice at all. It was spacious but it faced a back alley and looked like the renovations had not been completed in this room. I went back down to the lobby and there was a different clerk at the desk. I told her I was unhappy with the room and then inquired if Starpoint customers were assigned "special" rooms. She was disappointed that we had been treated badly and gave us a lovely room facing the Park. It was light and spacious and the renovations had been completed. I would stay there again, however, I would definitely check the room before hand.
