Paris-Verona Carry-On Question
I’ve posted this question in the Air Travel Forum but thought somebody here might be better able to answer it.
I’m flying Air France Hopper on an Embraer 170 from Paris to Verona and will have a 19-in. carry-on. Will my bag fit in an overhead bin on the plane? If not, will they gate-check it? And if so, will I pick it up plane-side upon arrival in Verona, or will I have to go to Baggage Claim to get it? Thanks in advance.

Do you mean the airline Hop? I've flown them, decent flight.
They'll gate check it all right and charge you a bundle if it violates standards, as the terms are clearly stated. I think they'll charge you 70 euro. They won't let you get to the door of the plane if it is too big, most likely, they are pretty vigilant.
Being 19 inches isn't the issue, it is the other dimensions and the weight. They are pretty strict and only allow a max of 12 kg weight for your carryon bag. But if it's less than that, the 19 inches in height shouldn't be a problem if the other dimensions are not too big (just under 14 inches across and about 9.5 inches thick). ALso, that size includes wheels and handles.

FYI, Air France/HOP cancelled our CDG-VRN flight in early October this year without notice and then rebooked us on an unacceptable alternative that we had to change which led to much arguing over additional fees. We didn't pay the fees.
Keep an eye on your reservations. There had been two flights a day CDG-VRN, and they cancelled the later one.
