The Paris Museum Pass (fka, Carte Musee) permits faster access to many of the museums and sites. We've used the passes on a number of trips to Paris and environs. The Pass saved us at least an hour (in the ticket line) when we visited Versailles earlier this April and considerable time everywhere else, including the D'Orsay, Rodin and the L'Arc de Triomphe. That to me is an enormous benefit, irrespective of whether the sum of single admissions to these places might be less than the cost of the pass. Also utilize them to pop into museums we might otherwise forego, including Nissim Comondo, or to pop in for short visits when we find a free hour.
Have a great trip.

If your kids love art, then they should enjoy Montmarte, as that's where a lot of the Impressionist artists lived and worked. Rick Steves, in his Paris book, has a good walking tour of Montmarte that focuses on the artists. We took our 10-yo son (who loves Van Gogh), and we all enjoyed it very much.
A good way to experience the Louvre, particularly with kids who might love art but also need a break - we went for several hours in the morning, then left and had lunch at a creperie, then returned for several more hours. And not that my son was really into the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, but we made it a quest to see works by all four of their namesakes at the Louvre - it was fun!
