So you've decided to visit Paris for 2 days but have done no research on your own? Impossible to advise without knowing what interests you, what your budget is, etc.

How about Deyrolles? (Just a ridiculous answer since you have provided no info about yourself and haven't done any basic background research).

Click on the word "Destinations" above and then click on Paris for suggested itineraries.

You could also read some posts here or read a guide book.

Hi StCirq
I have actually done some basic research on my own but was wondering whether 2 days are enough to cover all these attractions? And will there be any other interesting place beside the below to visit ?

•Latin Quarter
•Rue Mouffetard
•Pantheon
•Sorbonne
•Luxemburg Gardens
•Notre Dame Cathedral
•Champs-Elysées and the Arc du Triomphe
•The Eiffel Tower
• Marais
•"Beaubourg" and the Centre Pompidou
•Canal Saint-Martin
•Belleville
•Montmartre

hotel budget is about 200 euro.

Hi Adrienne, tks I will study the itinerary.

My suggestion is not to try and do all of Paris in 2 days. Accept now, you will need to come back! Pick a couple of things and really enjoy them. If I were you I would leave the Eiffel Tower until the evening. Go there after everything else is closed and enjoy the view of Paris lit up at night.

Try the Gothic Paris tour by Context Tours. Expensive but they have consistently excellent feedback. I have booked a few of these tours for later in the year. There's a boat ticket (I've heard) that let's you get on and off at stops along the Seine. As cities are built around waterways perhaps spend the afternoon hopping on and off visiting a few sites. This will give you a good intro to Paris and her original "lifeline".

The following day I would do a bike tour (maybe try Fat Tyres?) that takes in Champs Elysees and the Arc du Triomphe plus a couple of other sites of interest. You haven't got La Louvre on your list so I'm not sure if you're interested in art but probably worth a look in!

I'd be interested to hear your thoughts, we're off to Paris in September for ten days.

Good luck!
Ingrid.

Narrow your focus. For instance, in the Marais list things you want to see and to do there (other than Beaubourg), so you're not aimlessly wandering. The Marais is very quiet on Saturdays so I would suggest doing this on Sunday or Monday.

Prioritize your list as you do have too much for 2 days.

Get a good laminated map (Streetwise) and put post it flags on the sights you want to see so you can group things together (Pantheon, Luxembourg Gardens, rue Mouffetard) and see how things connect.

Rue Mouffetard is good on Sunday mornings and mid morning (weather permitting) there are accordion players and singing and dancing at the bottom of the hill. There's not much of interest in the Sorbonne. The church facade is pretty but many of the buildings are just concrete blocks and are not identified (except by seeing students go in and out).

Read more about your primary areas as there are lots of interesting things you haven't listed but you haven't said what your interests are. From your list I can tell it's not museums nor churches.

Your list would take 4+ days to see.

Sorbonne...that is an exterior visit.

Champs Elysee and Arc...not for a 2 day visit, and really, probably not what you might think it will be like. A look. longingly, from Place de la Concorde would be fine.

Belleville? Not a usual first trip destination, What interests you there?

With the amount of time you have, you could do a caoch tour of the city, to at least see the main sites. Add on a late evening Seine Cruise. The ticketed boat mentioned above is the Batobus, which is more of point to point 'water bus'.

I would then pick one area for each day and do the sites there.

Notre Dame could be one starting point, and has enough to fill a day in its vicinity (after islands, left Bank). Place des Vosges would be another for Marais exploration. Palais Royal as a starting point for a Louvre area explore.

As others stated, have a look at the Destination guide and see how they layout their days, and start from that.

HI Ingrid, tks for sharing the tips... will share more after the trip ...

Hi adrienne, you are right museums are really not our interest. We have plan to visit Pantheon, Luxembourg Gardens, rue Mouffetard in 1 morning and Eiffel Tower during night time.

Notre Dame and a few places near the vicinity the next day morning before we depart for Venice.

Is there any recommendation for hotel? Budget 200Euro per night.

HI Michel, I am interested to add the Seine Cruise into the itinerary. Is it better to take it before the visit to Eiffel Tower or after?

Thanks all for the great help! appreciate that

Take the Seine cruise - we like Vedettes du Pont Neuf - just before dusk so you can see Paris in daylight, dusk, and as the lights come on. Paris from the river provides so many b4autiful sights. You will see why it is called the "City of Lights".

If you are taking the Seine cruise right before or after visiting the Eiffel Tower, there are two that leave right from the base of the Eiffel Tower. Whether to go before or after going up the tower depends on what time you do both things. Since you say you want to go up the tower at night, you might take the cruise at dusk to see the lights coming on.
