Paris Trip Report
After spending a few days in London, my husband and I and another couple took the train to Paris for 5 days January 13-17. We stayed in the Latin Quarter at a self-catering apartment (apartaparis.com). It worked out great--it had two bedrooms, 1 bath (although it did advertsise two bathrooms, one only had a tub!), a great living room and dining room for 241 euros a night. The location was so central!
During our trip, we walked 5 miles every day to attractions--eiffel tower, museuum dorsay, marais, siene river cruise. My favorite street in Paris was rue mouffard--they have a market until 1 pm from Tuesday through Saturday...
Had a great dinner at aux lyonnais. Pretty expensive (340 euros for the four of us) but worth it.
Had a great time in Paris--the weather was in the 40s. People were receptive when we tried to speak french and the wine and cheese were wonderful!

Quick comment : Aux Lyonnais is nice, and typically French, maybe too much... I d recommend 2 other restaurants :
1. mon vieil ami, 69 r St Louis en l'Ile 75004 PARIS +33 1 40 46 01 35 (near Notre Dame, really good, its the bistro of a 3 star chef)
2. MISS BETSY 23 r Guillaume Tell 75017 PARIS +33 1 42 67 12 67 (Near ChampsElysees, very French but with a twist.."modern French" they'd call it in magazines)
Prices are fair for the food, miss betsy a bit cheaper.
Last tip of the day : if you're looking for an adress or a phone nber, the yellow pages website is pretty useful, it gives you a picture of the restaurant your re looking for and a map to go there, pretty handy!
