Paris trip

Has anyone used Blue Van shuttle for transportation from CDG to their hotel? They advertise 14.5 euros pp (we're a party of 4) directly to your hotel, not significantly more than what I've seen in the guidebooks (the bus costs 13 according to the Fodors guide and doesn't take you directly to your hotel). Are they reliable? Any other suggestions? Figure after an overnight flight we won't be in great shape to deal with bus/train and it would be a luxury to get picked up & delivered.

A taxi will be a little cheaper (probably about 50€ for four people), and will also take you right to your door, but there won't be any worries about whether your flight will be on time, whether the shuttle will actually show up or not, etc.

There are plenty of taxis that can take four people- we have done it without any problem or wait.

A bus won't take you to your hotel, of course, but Fodors guide online doesn't mention any bus that costs 13 euro (none do, that I know of). The Air France bus costs 12 euro to Montparnasse, but only 8 to Arc de Triomphe. They have a 15 pct discount for parties of four or more. Prices are cheaper for kids.

I think these other shuttle companies are more wellknown than Blue Van.

Marcy is right about a taxi being cheaper and more convenient. I don't know what part of Paris you are going to, but we stayed in the 9th and the cab ride cost €35 for 3 of us. As you know, the shuttle will cost €58 for 4 people. Regardless of where you are staying, I think a cab ride will be your best option.

We took BlueVan to and from CDG and the service was great.

We left Paris on the day of a general transit strike and BlueVAn had a problem getting to us and then to CDG.

They made it against all odds.

This was May 2003. :-B

It all depends on what the luxury of being picked up and delivered is worth to you. The train costs €7.85

p.s. cars.airfrance.fr says the bus to either Montparnasse or Étoile is €12.

If you consider a cab ride, also consider the amount and sizes of your luggages.

Have taken parishutle.com and, other than minor inconvenience of dropping off/picking up others in different hotels, it was OK.

Ha, ed--we left Paris on the day of the general strike in May 2003 too .

I think our shuttle service may have been called Golden Shuttle. They were fine.
