Paris to Munich
We would like to travel from Paris to Munich in September on a Sunday. What is the best way to travel? We looked at airberlin and the prices were kind of high (not really sure what would be considered a good price though for intercountry travel)Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

I would look into serveral airlines, trains are often not cheapest method. Can you play with dates a bit, sometimes a flight is alot cheaper the day before or after the date you have picked. Also , consider which airport the airline uses, some cheap airlines you airports that are quite far out and cost in time and money to get to. The best ones( in terms of transport and public transport ) for Paris are Charles De Gaulle or Orly. Beauvais is about 80 kilometers out and public transport there is less frequent.
I would also look at booking a round trip ticket and just not using second half as one ways are sometimes more expensive then round trip. Play on the websites.
Check out EasyJet , and Ryanair too, I have not idea if they do Munich though.

Last year my wife and I took the overnight train from Paris to Munich. It was a very pleasant experience. We left Gare D'Est at 10:30 and rolled into Munich about 8:30 AM.
We booked a private sleeper, drank wine and even showered in our compartment. It was quite romantic to sit on our darkened bunks and watching the moonlit countryside roll by. Our conductor awakened us with hot coffee and pastries about half an hour before our arrival in Munich.

I have looked into some of your suggestions, and I am still having difficulty. The SNFC site keeps sending me to different sites (i do not speak French) and while the Bahn.de site does offer trips, it does not indicate the prices of the tickets. I am not sure if I am doing something wrong? THe overnight train ride does not sound like a bad idea, however how do I research prices to compare flying vs railroad? Is it a better idea to use a travel agent to book this? Or should I wait to see if they post prices and risk the airfare going up ever more? (You were right Bozama...the round trip costs the same as a one way) Thanks again, any insight on how to book in advance would be appreciated
