You will go through passport control (immigration) at CDG, but don't need to pick up luggage.
Air France and KLM now belong to the same company, and should have many flights a day between CDG and AMS; so even if you miss the connection, they can easily put you on a later flight.

OK, so the airlines aren't always 100% reliable when they give out "information" but, on the other hand, you ARE flying on them and not on this board. Anytime you make an airline connection I think you should always be prepared for mis-directed luggage or the chance of a missed connection and plan accordingly. Besides, what happened on those sequences in the past are no guarantee of what may, or probably won't, happen to you.

Fine suggestion. It's a good idea to always have some essentials in your carryon. CDG is one of the few European airports that has misplaced my luggage. They delivered it 2 days later.
