ohh la la... your jewelry post caught my eye this time. When I visit Paris next time the DH won't be there (yet again.) So, I may need to purchase my own souvenir.

Just a note to let you know that I am enjoying your trip report. I will have to wait a bit to read the rest of them as I am off to Europe shortly, but not Paris. I home exchange nad have swap in Vienna this year. Can't wait!

Fabulous report! We also walked the entire Promenade Plantée on our third trip to Paris. Such a great way to peak in the windows of "real" Parisian apartments as you stroll by on their level. Thanks for sharing your experiences.

Enjoying your report! Although we aren't going until next year, I've been thinking about weather reading the current conditions. I like what you said about it feeling cozy and romantic. I would imagine it feels more like you are 'living' there rather than just on vacation (and choosing the glass to be half full!).
Were there any families with children in your restaurant outings?

In three times to Paris, I dont remember seeing a lot of young children in restaurants. It might just be the types of restaurants we go to or that we eat later.

I did notice families with schoolage kids or teens in some of the restaurants like Polidor and the little local places like the couscous places or small Italian restaurants.

But - don't just take my word for it since I wasn't particularly paying attention. I have not traveled with small children yet - next year I am hoping to bring three teens to paris for a few days and have started to wonder about the best places to eat.

For those of you who like jewelry, this is the line of jewelry that is carried at HAREM near Odeon.

I also found their wholesale showroom in the Marais but you have to have a wholesale license and purchase a minimun of 500 euros.

There is a boutique here in Chicago that carries this line but I have been reluctant to go there because it could be financially dangerous...

Canada - its funny because we had been to Paris in May when the weather was in the 60s and sunny. It was great but we had just as much fun in the rainy weather as well.

We have been back twice in March due to the lower airfares. Each time - especially this year - it was rainy and cold and it really was part of the charm.

We have coats with hoods as I never carry an umbrella. An umbrella in chicago is essentially useless due to the wind so I learned years ago to just have a coat with a hood. It served us well in Paris cause we could keep on walking without getting too drenched.


Another bonus is that in the colder weather - you can use your coat pockets to carry stuff - or even replace carrying a purse.

For Chicagolori--does the Harem shop on rue St. Andre des Arts carry other jewelry lines in addition to the one you like? I have passed that shop many times but never went in. I am sure my husband is glad of that! We will be going back in the fall and I am adding Harem to my list.

I am not really sure - they have many choices but I am not sure if its all the same designer or not. Sorry.
