Paris taxi from CDG airport

We are traveling to Paris in early December and arrive on a Sunday. We just got a quote from a taxi company of 75 euros to pick 3 of us up with 3 bags and take us to our hotel in the 7th Arr. Wow! One of our party has limited walking ability or we would take the RER. Does this price seem high?

We just took a cab from CDG to central Paris, arriving on a Saturday morning. The cost was 50 euros which included the tip. The meter fare was 43 euros. That was for two of us with two bags. That price seems high. I would just go out to the taxi line in front of the arrivals terminal.

No, seems high but that's a good deal for the three of you.

But depending on where you need to go, aside from the RER B there could be the Air France buses (www.lescarsairfrance.com/en.html - four different lines going different routes, no need to have flown Air France), or the Roissybus (http://www.aeroportsdeparis.fr/ADP/e...-roissybus.htm), or one of the shuttles.

The quote is a little high. For 3 of you, take a taxi from the queue. Have your hotel's address printed out--and maybe a little map, just in case. Should be about 50E total. It is easy and stress free.
There is a 1E charge per bag, so don't think you're being ripped off when it is added to the meter.

I usually paid around50-55 euros. I think the tariff is a bit more on Sundays.
For 3 people to take other transportation RER or the AF bus ( plus metro) would
probably not be much less.

It isn't that high any more, private car services are charging around 70 euro nowadays for airport transfer, and you have 3 people. I think my last hotel uses a car service that is now quoting 65 euro for one person (or maybe 2), it goes up a bit for each person.

That wasn't a taxi, it was a car service. Taxis don't have flat rates. If you called a taxi company, that was some sideline business of airport transfers as taxis use meters and legally are required to do so in Paris. Some other countries have flat airport rates, but Paris does not.

THis one charges 69 euro, for example http://www.greyshuttle.com/

THis one seems to only charge 55 euro, which is now a good deal http://www.shuttle-inter.com/

oh, and rates are higher on Sundays, last time I took a taxi to CDG on a Sunday, the taxi fare on the meter was really high, I think it was 65-70 euro. I couldn't figure out why as the traffic wasn't bad.

I just returned from France 2 weeks ago, and used www.shuttle-inter for RT, CDG to the 6th. They charge 55 euro for up to 3 people. It is a private shuttle, meaning that your party will be the only ones in the car. They meet you as you exit Baggage with your name on a sign and help you with luggage to the car. You pay nothing in advance, and regardless of how long it takes for the journey, the fee is still 55 euro, unlike a taxi.

Shuttle-Inter has many, many satisfied clients on here and from time to time, there are negative reviews. I have used them for many RTs (CDG-Paris-CDG) and have always been very happy with the service. This trip there were 5 of us, 2 with limited mobility. They were wonderful; we used them back and forth to the train stations, also, and when we arrived back in Paris Est, the driver, knowing we had 2 in wheel chairs, was waiting at the quai to help with luggage. I've been meaning to post on here about the especially great service we received from them this trip, and this seems like a good opportunity to do it.

Thank you all for the good info. I'll look into Shuttle-Inter and grey shuttle, too!

We took a cab last Sunday (10/27) from the 4th Arr. to CDG. The fare was about 75EUR, but when you're coming from the city the meter starts when/where the taxi gets the call.

I typically pay 50€ for a taxi from CDG into Paris. If you have a group of people, perhaps 5 or more, you will pay this same basic price plus 3€ for each of the 4th and subsequent passengers and 1€ per bag placed into the trunk or about 60€.

One shuttle company, Shuttle Inter mentioned above, charges 80€ for 5 people being transported over the same route. Taxis will save you money and they are always there at the terminals waiting for you.
