You may be paying for certainty in price, but there is no convenience compared to a taxi, as you simply walk out the door to the taxi queue and get one. I don't know how anything could be more convenient and who cares about people standing around with your name on a sign? Well, I guess some people do, but I really cannot fathom why.

When we walked out our door in Paris four days ago at 5:00 a.m. there was a dirth of taxis lined up to take. Fortunately, we'd reserved a car ahead of time.
