Paris questions
We are staying at the Novotel Paris Les Halles. We have a short time in Paris. We have a sight seening tour on Bateauz Mouches (I believe this is a cruise on the Siene River) Then a Dinner and Show at the Moulin rouge. (tickets were provided to the goup-not my choice) We have a free morning---from our hotel, what would we be able to enjoy? I have no expectations- just want to experience France during the short morning, I will take any suggestions.

I suppose it depends on what your interests are, but you could tour Notre Dame (maybe climb up for the great views ) and St Chapelle; shop or go get lost wandering whatever area interests you the most.....the Marais, the Rue Cler market, hang at a cafe, walk along the Seine, etc. Have a wonderful trip!

As pointed out, the Novotel Les Halles is very close to the Sainte Chapelle, Notre Dame, the Marais... as well as the Louvre and the Pompidou Center. Or, if you want to go shopping, it is sitting on top of the Forum des Halles shopping mall.

Hi jj,
Look up your hotel address, 8 Place Marguerite de Navarre, at www.viamichelin.com.
You will see that there are many things that can fill your morning.

As suggested, I would plan a walk to Notre Dame and then perhaps along the seine or rue Rivoli towards the Louvre and the Tuilleries. Take time out for a coffee at a cafe and then head back to the hotel. In Les Halles, certainly take a moment to go into St. Supice and appreciate the contrast with Notre Dame.

I'd skip the Les Halles mall -- it's a bit of a dreary place frequented by young folks at loose ends. I'd go with Notre Dame/St. Chapelle if you are into churches ... otherwise the Marais, Places des Vosges etc... For more suggestions you could lalso ook here: http://tinyurl.com/259xqq
