Lost forever in CDG?

I don't want to be lost forever in CDG! Is 1 hr and 15 minutes enough time to make it from 2E to 2F (to Rome) at CDG. We will be there on a Saturday in June. I have never been to this airport and do not speak French. Are the airline/airport personnel very helpful in getting passengers to their connecting flights. Any suggestions as to how we do this? There are 5 of us.

no you shouldnt be lost for ever..maybe a few minutes though. You can easily walk from 2E to 2f..these pods are connected. The signage isnt great but good enough. There are maps posted which help orient. There is a shuttle but I really think much less confusing to walk. Helpful..depends. You will likely find someone who speaks English BUT I think it might be less confusing to get a map prior and visually orient yourself.

Thanks --About how long a walk is it? Do you think we will have to go through security, immigration and customs? Is Air France serving meals these days or should we try to get something in the airport?

Loanna, I posted a very similar question as well! Several people have been very helpful, so you may want to check it out. (Once you click on my name it is the post titled "Connecting at CDG...almost afraid to ask...&quot

There are two ways to do it. The "official" way is to take the airside shuttle from 2E to 2F, and clear immigration at 2F.

The "unofficial", but probably better, way is to go through immigration at 2E, like if you're going to Paris. Then walk to 2F. It's a short walk - perhaps 400 yards.

Also, there are plenty of flights from Paris to Rome. If your first flight is late, they can still put you on later flights.

Hi LO,

>Is 1 hr and 15 minutes enough time to make it from 2E to 2F ....

Maybe. I am very leery of less than 90 mn at CDG.

Make sure that your baggage is checked through to Rome.

You might be allowed one carryon and one piece of personal luggage (purse) on leaving the US.

HOWEVER, you will be allowed only one (1) carryon from CDG. Everything must be in that one (1) carryon.

You must be prepared for the following:

Your plane will land somewhere near Roissy.

You will wait to be offloaded to a shuttle bus.

You will wait for the shuttle bus to move.

You will arrive, eventually, at Terminal 2E.

You will be herded through miles of corridors to Passport Control.

Have a pen ready, because you will now learn that you have to fill out a form.

You will, eventually, clear Passport Control.

You will walk or run to 2F, where you will stand on line for Security.

You will check the Departure boards for your gate.

You will run to your gate:

A) Your plane has left

B) Your plane is delayed.

If A, do not get angry and upset. The staff love it when passengers get angry and upset.

They will put you on the next plane.

> Are the airline/airport personnel very helpful in getting passengers to their connecting flights. <

Oh, that's rich. You are such a joker.

Enjoy your visit.

PS,

Map of CDG 2 is at www.aeroportsdeparis.fr/

Don't be surprised if you make the connection and your luggage doesn't, or vice versa.

Funny, Ira, you have it down to a T.
I would be wary of less than two hours at CDG, I've been burned a few times too.
