Good restaurants in Paris:
You can check all the restaurants that inspired, supervised by Alain Ducasse(e.g 59 poincare, spoon food and wine, cafe faubourg,il cortile etc)or a restaurant in a 4-star hotel(e.g Sofitels,Hotel Scribe(Les Muses or Le Jardin Des Muses), Le GRand Hotel Ic(Cafe de la paix)etc.
If you want more informations about these restaurants do not hesitate to ask.
You can get a taxi from a taxi stop(mostly near the point of interest, some squares, or outside some 4-star hotels)but sometimes you have to wait for 30+min.You can also call a taxi from your hotel. But, you can go everywhere in Paris by metro.

You can try the two following restaurants:
Gourmet de l?Ile (66 euros for two) on the Ile St. Louis and Café l?Industries (75.80 euros for three) located near the Bastille. Type either of their name in the search box and you will come up with my report that includes a description of both places.

Head over to the 13th and have a good dinner at Au Petit Marguery, which has classic Paris bistro atmosphere. On the Ile St-Louis, Mon Viel Ami is getting good comments from those in the know. In the 1st, L'Absinthe is on the Place du Marché St-Honoré; over toward the Rue de Rivoli, L'Ardoise has a long menu of good food at quite a reasonable price.
Do you really mean July 2005? By then you should have a ton of suggestions.
