The area with the columns was closed off already when I visited a year ago, so that part has been worked on for some time, and possibly it is close to completion. The garden area was not closed off at that time yet, but the blog cited above that talks about a possible completion date of December '09 mentions only the part with the columns.

This is the one that should have been posted when we went to l'Obe and to Bar Vendome last Saturday:

I did go to Le Florimond..of course it was good!! Chou farci was on the menu and I did order it. I had already started eating it when I remembered to take the picture.

Laurent was great, as always...

Joan,
Oh my, your dinner at Le Florimind looks fabulous, what is the dessert? Certainly more than just a cream puff!

poconolady,

Le Florimond does make a fantastic millefeuille. It's about 12" high!

Le Florimond is always good. It is small,32 seats, so advance reservations definitely. They have a very good local clientele following, too.

Bonjour,

You can't believe the weather today..bright and sunny and warm..like a spring day! Everyone knows that it will not last..enjoy it while they can!

Weekender's plane landed about an hour ago. He should be getting to his hotel shortly. He has to be delighted with the weather. It was something like zero when he left Chicago in a near blizzard!!

Going down to Cafe Constant for a light lunch.

a bientot..

I LOVE all your pics but especially the tree made of polar bears. Thanks for giving me a daily dose of Paris. Looking forward to your get-together pics.

Thanks, Joan, for posting during your trip. I leave in 7 hours and can't wait. I too am coming from Chicago where it was 7 degrees according to my car this morning. 40s will feel balmy. Too bad I will be a day late for the GTG. Have fun.

We had a great time last night. Had friends over before dinner. Some could not go to dinneer with us. We were able to enjoy some Kirs, Kirs Royale etc. and spent a couple hours just visiting...nice.

Those of us who were dining then went on over the the restaurant. They had us set up in our own space. We all made some choices for food and wine..we allshared to be able to taste more things. We did have fun. It must have been about 11:30 when we left. I completely forgot to take pictures of food. Here are people pictures: http://tinyurl.com/ydyko25

Today weekender came by apartment. We visited, shaed a glass of wine and then went down to Violon d'Ingres for our lunch reservations. We met Madelyn there. She and Phil have tried to meet previouly, but just did not work out. Christian came by and visited, Catherine sent us Champagne and we really had a fun time. Madelyn is just effervescent!Lots of good conversation. She gave him some good suggestions of what they might like to do tomorrow. Guess what..I completely forgot to take any pictures. We did have a great meal that ended with their famous souffle.

I had a busy day today. Cold outside, too. Winteer weather has finally arrived. I had my breakfast across the street and about 10 took metro to Lamotte-Picquet and went to Monoprix and then on the whole length to the churcha at the end. I then went back to Monoprix and picked up a couple scarves..one as a gift and one for myself.I then walked back home..not far! I saw a seafood restaurant that I am going to try this evening. I called and made an early reservation. It is cold outside!

I took these a little while ago when it sparkled:

Going down to 0°C tomorrow. Monday will have a low of -4° and a high of 0°. Snow is possible. Maybe you will regret leaving less.

Yes, I seemed have timed it just right! The weather was unseasonably warm for my whole 6 weeks. It was much cooler at the same time last year when here..for the Dec. part, at least.

I'm sure I will see winter when I return the end of Jan.

Just returned from a good dinner....all oysters!! Busy spot. I was the only non French in the shole place, and it was full! Vin et Maree on ave Suffren...an easy walk across the parc. There seem to be several of them around Paris.

a bientot...

I'm disappointed - I can't get your pictures to come up! I've always been able to before, and don't think I've changed anything on my computer.
Darn! Is anyone else these problems with Joan's pictures today?
