Paris- Most scenic walks

Looking to hear about your most scenic walks that I can see lotsa action in Paris. I am looking for good routes and street names of your favorite walks and maybe cool places to stop along those routes.

The city looks so big so I want to hear about your best experiences because I only have 2 full days. Thanks in advance!!

I don't have a map handy, but I always enjoy a walk down the banks of the Seine or along the Champs Elysees.

"The city looks so big."

Actually, it's very small, geographically speaking. You can basically walk from one end to the other in a couple of hours. It's absolustely minuscule by comparison to, say, London.

Get the Eyewitness Guide to Paris and look for a book called Paris Walks. Both have detailed explanations of lovely walks in Paris and surrounds.

One of my favorite walks originates at my hotel in the 7me. I walk to Les Invalides, then the Musée Rodin, then the Musée d'Orsay, then prowl around the rue Buci area, then cross the Seine to Notre Dame and the Ile de la Cité, then back to the Right Bank and down the river to the Palais Royale, then over the river again to the Avenue Bosquet and back to my htel. It's a full day, but I never tire of walking.

do any particular streets have stuff like street performers and pedestrian only fun streets....etc.

also can you recommend any areas not necessarily streets that would be fun to hang out in outside. Thanks

I personally avoid Montmartre area after dark. There are many nightclubs in the area, but I find it rather unsavory.

I always enjoy people watching at Centre Pompidou (Beaubourg).

Here is a list of described walks by 'area' that you can read, and choose a couple that appeal to you the most.

All of Degas' walks listed together so anyone can find them:

The Pont des Arts has street performers and is a pedestrian-only bridge. We always make it a point to stop on our way to or from the Louvre.
