Paris metro mobilis tickets

Does anyone know about the validity of mobilis day tickets? We should be arriving in Paris 18h56 and leaving next day 18h55 (by train) Will we need just one ticket each to cover us for the 24 hours or will the first evening's expire by morning? There is some info on mobilis on the ratp website but their English version doesn't seem to mention it. We don't plan extensive travel, so we could just buy a carnet or 2 between the 3 of us.

It isn't a 24-hour ticket, it's for a calendar day.

Mobilis and the other "day" products expire when the trains stop running (around 1h30 the next day). So you would need some kind of ticketing for two days.

Thanks to all you francophiles - but I am pretty sure that if you buy (or rather, first use) a mobilis after midnight it continues to be valid the next working day, which of course would actually be the same day. In other words you write on the new date, so it stays valid. Nearly did this last year when we arrived in gare du nord about 11pm, but decided (wisely) to go straight to bed instead. Anyway, it'll be June, we are fit, we can walk & enjoy the streets!

That's not my reading of the RATP page covering the Mobilis:

Ce titre de transport est valable pour une journée pendant les heures de service (entre 5h30 et 1h environ). La journée entière est décomptée quelle que soit l'heure de début d'utilisation pendant les heures de service (entre 5h30 et 1h environ). Exemple : lors de votre première utilisation , si vous validez entre minuit et 1h environ, la journée précédente est décomptée.

That last clause says "upon your first use, if you validate between approximately midnight and 1AM, the previous day is deducted."

So what you are contemplating doing will cost you 5,60€ for one ride.
