You are absolutely right -- in Alsace-Moselle, Good Friday is a holiday and Easter Monday is not. The 3 departments in question do not have the same health system either, and all of the clergy receive government salaries, among other strange things.

Again, thanks to all. kerouac, those specific dates are really helpful. My DD is entering high school in September, and her break is in March. The break in her former school was in February, which was wonderful. We were in Rome and Florence last year with a few Japanese and, believe it or not, Italian tourists from other parts of Italy. It was amazing! I'm sure that we will have a great time in Paris too.

I'm sure you will be hearing from me with more questions before March!
