Paris Hotel = Duquesne Eiffel ( 7e arrondissement )???
I'm going to book this hotel for my may trip. It's in the 7e arrondissement, next to the Eiffel Tower and the Champs de Mars.
Any advice or recommendations about it or the area?

I can comment on the area, as we stay at the Derby Eiffel at the other end of the block -
The VII is pretty quiet, but there are plenty of little shops and open-air markets as you get over towards the Invalides. A cafe at the Place École Militaire is a great perch for people-watching.
Transportation - Métro Ligne 8 is a few minutes away, as are Buses 28, 82, 87, and 92.
I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

I believe that hotel is a fave of Fodors veteran "St Cirq"...
ah-here you go:

I've been staying at the Hôtel Duquesne-Eiffel for about the last 20 years and I love the place. The staff are helpful, the place is convenient to a métro stop and plenty of cafés and restaurants, and the rooms are very well appointed and comfortable, albeit small as is typical for Paris..."

But she also like:
Message: I can't help you with the Hotel du College de France, but I stay at the Hôtel de France all the time and love it for what it is - a good-value, clean, friendly place with really good mattresses and nicely appointed bathrooms. The rooms are smallish, but if you ask for a renovated room (I think there's still one floor they haven't finished renovating, but could be wrong as I was last there in October) you'll get a nice room.
Can't help you with the bedding arrangements. The Hôtel de France has rooms with all sorts of bedding arrangements, as does the other hotel, I would imagine. It depends on what you ask them for.

psy_dr, I have also booked the Duquesne Eiffel for my trip in October. Please would you post a crit on it when you get back?? We requested a room with a balcony & view of the Eiffel Tower. The rooms don't look all that small on the internet but looks can be deceiving. Also like to know of some brasserie reccommendations in the area.

THANKS!!! you guys are fabulous.
