Paris - Honeymoon Hotel Rec's!
Hello Fodor's!
My fiance and I are planning our honeymoon and have decided on spending 3-4 nights in Paris then a week in Positano on the Amalfi coast.
Could any experienced travelers suggest 4-5 hotels in the St. Germaine district?
We will be in Paris in June.
Our budget is approximately $300-400 a night. (I am more willing to go cheaper than my beautiful bride-to-be, so will listen to any suggestions that are a bit less expensive.)
It is our honeymoon, so we are looking for a bit more than the typical Euro-shoebox hotel room.
Thanks for any help that you can offer!

Sorry to have offended you - I only meant to convey that we are looking for more in a hotel than we have experienced before in Paris. Perhaps I should have used "stereotypical."
Please, snipe away if it makes you feel better.

Ha ha -- okay, I'll go for it, but only because nobody has chosen to be 'helpful' yet. Maybe this will inspire them to outdo themselves in interesting recommendations.
Since you used the word "stereotypical" I hope that you know that Saint Germain-des-Prés is the most stereotypical tourist area in all of Paris, at least for Americans (most other nationalities are not at all attracted to it -- hmmm, I wonder why?). But I will also admit that sometimes stereotypes can be a good thing, at least to a certain extent.
I will nevertheless make a possibly positive suggestion. If you accept recommendations from anywhere in "picture postcard" Paris and not just St. Germain, you will probably get a lot more interesting suggestions, and maybe even some good places to eat that are not tourist traps.

Also since this is a special occasion, you might consider an apartment.
We're renting from Paris Perfect in January - www.parisperfect.com
Usually the rentals are for a one week minimum, however you might check if they can do less.

I don't stay in this level of hotel, but I know the usual suspects in St Germain. There aren't that many, you know, at that level, at least not there -- some folks like Relais Christine or the Aubusson (get superior room in order to avoid shoebox, which may be over your budget), and I think the Relais St Germain is one of the top level hotels around there and sounds about right in your budget:

Hotel de l'Abbaye is the other one I can think of which might be good

Finally, it's not a 4* but a 3* and given your budget, that's about what you get in St Germain (at least for around 200 euro) -- I've heard it has some larger rooms, the HOtel Madison

On my last trip to Paris, the shuttle I was on stopped to drop people off at this hotel: http://www.hotelabbayeparis.com
It looked quite charming. I have since heard good comments about it. The location was good too.

Hi
Congrats on your impending nuptials.
Try the Little Palace Hotel - http://www.littlepalacehotel.com. It is in the 3rd district and has an internet discount of 10% go 15%. Haven't stayed there but looks romantic and chic for the money.

Thank you everyone for your suggestions! I will do some research on the mentioned hotels, and probably follow up with some more questions the closer we get to our trip.
In the meantime, I would love to hear more recommendations!

Just a quick thanks - my wife and I stayed at the Luxembourg Parc during our honeymoon and loved it! The staff was very nice and very helpful, making reservations and accommodating a room change request.
And kerouac, if you read this, I found the rooms to be far from the "typical Euro-shoebox hotel room."
