Beaufort,
Please, please keep trying for Michael Osman. You will see and hear so much more of Paris in the short time you have that it will be worth the effort to reach him. I suggested to 4 different people to contact him and initially they just wanted him for one day but he was so good they hired him for subsequent days.

Wow, I think I need to go and live there for a month. So much to see, so much to experience, so much to taste and it just keeps going doesn't it? This has been an interesting topic, "Paris for 4 nights in November" just wanting a few hints on what to squeeze in and it is just amazing the number of people who want to tell you about one little place you must visit or endorsing a comment from someone else. All of it is just brilliant and it just goes to show what an exciting place Paris is. Everyone seems to fall in love with the place.

DH and I spent New Year's in Paris a few years ago. Airline "lost" our luggage, so we were left to walk around this magnificent city in what we had chosen to wear flying into Paris - jeans, sneakers, short winter jacket for him, and skirt, leggings, boots, sweater, and down coat for me. It was rainy a couple of days, so we bought hats, scarves, gloves, and unbrellas. (luggsge showed up at home, 3 weeks later ...)
Best trip of the many we have taken, as it turned out. I'm sure weather in November is better than early January ...
I am so jealous! Have a fabulous trip

@sassy-cat: before i was able to live part time in Paris I used to go there quite a lot on photoshoot work. One july I brought my son, then 11, along. July is a dead period in Paris, but for children it's brilliant, because Paris Plage is on, and the banks of the Seine change into a beach with deck chairs, and hammocks, and palm trees. There's an outdoor pool, there's activities for kids to do, there's boules to play, concerts to go to at night. It's the only time I visited Paris as a beach destination, but it was wonderful. Of course the weather has to hold up, but if it does, your daughter will have a wonderful time, and you too. Do note, however, that a lot of shops and institutions will be closed for the month.
