Why is it those people in france are telling everyone else what not to wear? I tried to say it politely, but let me be honest, the french dress like slobs. That is not to say they aren't nice. Unlike jean-claude, everyone, i repeat, everyone, was polite and friendly. Much more friendly than most of the service personnel in the U.S.

Hey, I didn't mean the men and women in the military when I wrote "sevice personnel" I meant store clerks etc.

I saw everything in Paris, and yes alot of jeans and they weren't just on tourist. Dress comfortably for touring during the day, even if that is in jeans. You won't stand out in the wrong way.
