Paris Dinner
It is my wife's 40th birthday this year and we (she) have decided to spend the actual birthday in Paris (we will be in France for 2 weeks but the actual birthday will be in Paris). It will be my wife and I, her sister and our two children (aged 11 and 8 who are good travelers).
I am after any restaurant recommendations for a special birthday dinner? Are any of the restaurants in the actual Eiffel Tower any good or do they just rely on their location? Also, while we love fine food and wine, we will also need somewhere that can at least accommodate our two kids as well.
I haven't really started my research yet but I just thought the team on Fodor's could narrow my search.
The birthday is on 03 July and price is not really an issue?
Thanks in advance.

I'd ask two questions
1) What sort of food do you like?
2) Where are you staying?
My best ever meal was at the Arab world Institute, right on the back of the Seine with the best view in Paris https://www.imarabe.org/en/practical-information/restaurants-and-cafe

Good questions;
We are staying fairly central on the Rue de Rivoli in the 1st ARR just adjacent to the Jardin de Tuileries. We will be on foot or traveling via public transport.
As for food types, we like to try the local cuisine of wherever we travel so I guess French is on the menu but we're not wedded to any particular food type/style. It doesn't have to be a Michelin Star restaurant (although that would be nice) but it does have to be a memorable dinner with great food and, preferably, a great view.

Our 13 yr. old granddaughter was blown away. Like dinner in a movie set.
The problem I see is July 3rd. In the summer it is sometimes quite warm in the restaurant. I would check is the air conditioning was revamped when they remodeled.
Have any Fodorites been there last summer to comment on that?

You might like the Georges on top of the Pompidou Center or if you want a tiny bit of adventure, the Ziryab on top of the IMA. It is a Moroccan restaurant with a breathtaking view of Notre Dame -- and also an outdoor terrace in the summer.

It is both. There are two restaurants. You can easily read online reviews.
THE 58 TOUR EIFFEL at 1st level is less expensive of the two and comes with so so reviews depending on what people are looking for.
THE JULES VERNE on the 2nd level is (or least was until it closed for renovation reopening in "spring" 2019) a Michelin one-star restaurant. We have dined there twice before the current renovation. It was relatively more expensive than the other one-star Michelin restaurants and the food was a ok as a Michelin one-star restaurant. What I used this occation was to go with first timers and use the location for a two-for-one benefit. Eiffel tower visit plus a Michelin star restaurant from one visit especially if you only have time for one or another if done separately. If you dine at The Jules Verne, you have access to a totally separate elevator to whisk you to the 2nd level. After dining, you were allowed to wonder onto the 2nd level, look around, then the restaurant gate keeper would remember you and let you get back into the restaurant and let you use the restaurant customer only elevator down to the ground level without competing with others trying to get down. I have gotten a window side table both times by booking on the day the reservation opened. Last year, it was 90 days ahead. I could only request a type of table. It was not a guarantee. I was allowed to use an express security entrance to the Eiffel tower ground by showing my reservation confirmation email.
I would not have gone to this restaurant if dining was the only objective. I felt the restaurant premium was more palatable with a faster entry to the Eiffel tower ground, a faster access to the 2nd level, a faster access down from the 2nd level back to the ground.
