PARIS----concert at Eglise de la Madeleine

Last Oct. we really enjoyed a concert at St. Chapelle.
This Sept. We are looking at a concert at Madeleine. As there is no assigned seating, what time would we have to get there to get good seats?
Concert is at 8:30

Have you been? Is it as wonderful as St. Chapelle concert?

Very different church from Ste Chapelle but that's not a bad thing necessarily.

There may be a security check, always at Ste Chapelle due to its location. If you have tickets, I would get there by 8:00, much earlier if you are buying tickets there.

I had an aunt who sang in la Mafeleine.
She said it is great.
I didn't like her so never been.

I've been there several times. The church posts a sign on the gate advising when you can enter for the concert, usually 20h.

There will be a VIP section down front which will be roped off, even though that isn't mentioned when you buy tickets online.

I would purchase tickets ahead of time, so you can walk right in without delay. People try all kinds of tricks to get past the ushers, but they never work.

I've been to concerts with the two-tier seating and yes you could buy tickets for the front of the church. I think I did that at St. Sulpice. The seats aren't tiered so more difficult to see from the rear rows particularly if a much taller person is in front of you.

Check on FNAC website.

This website will tell you if they are available.
In my experience, the VIPs seated in the reserved section probably did not pay for their tickets, but were politicians, "special people" or other notables.

The only tickets Classictic website offers are "Categories Unique" at 34 Euros each. Would that be general seating?
