Orzo, we tried twice without success. Hotel even tried to no avail. Opera is so popular in Italy that imagine (but not sure) last minute tickets are probably almost impossible to get.
But good luck, wouldn't it be fantastic!!

orzo, just a thought. Do you have hotel reservations in Milan? If so, have you phoned the hotel to see if they could get you tickets for the time that you will be there?
When we tried with our hotel it was last minute as we always travel without having a schedule. Which is great but of course sometimes does create a negative (as in trying to get tickets to LaScala). And we were always at the hotel just across the small street from the opera house. Very frustrating!

A few years ago, we asked our concierge for tickets. He came back to us and quoted an OUTRAGEOUS price for tickets he said were 'black market'. Instead of paying that, we walked over to La Scala on the afternoon before the performance and managed to pick up two tickets that had just been returned to the box office. I guess we were probably just lucky.

Could you buy them online via www.charta.it? If at first you don't succeed, try again, because inventory opens unpredictably. I haven't been to Milan and I'm not going this time, but the info I've gotten says the shows are almost always sold out long before the performance.

LoveItaly, it was Don Pasquale. I never realised at the time how lucky we were! We had flown in from Australia the day before, and had really bad jet lag. My husband and I took turns poking each other in the ribs so we did not drift off and miss a precious moment!.
