Paris Apt -- please help me choose

sorry -- i know there are a million threads out here like this (because my head is spinning from reading them all!)

anyways, i've narrowed it down to three, and can barely find any reviews on the first one, which i think our family of 4 (2 older teenagers who might not enjoy sleeping in a sofa bed together) may be very comfortable in.

any comments are GREATLY appreciated...

I've narrowed it down to these three:

http://www.vacationinparis.com/apts/id_205.htm

http://www.vacationinparis.com/apts/id_122.htm

http://www.rentparis.com/appart-en-24.html

thanks!
dina

I would only consider the first apartment, of the 3 you listed. It is the largest, has enough beds for every one of you, plus plenty of seating and a nice dining table.

Apt 2 is way too small for 4 people. Plus you'll have to convert the sofa to sofabed every single day, which gets old real fast.

Apt 3 is acceptable, but the second bed (on the mezzanine) is only full-size. I don't think your "2 older teenagers" will enjoy sharing such a small bed together.

I think Pompidou Home is best for your situation.

the kids will have their seperate beds and area. they will sleep better not being out in the living room.

i think you're right, which is why i like it the best. i just can't find any reviews on it anywhere, which makes me a bit nervous.

any suggestions where i can check?
(nothing on that specific apt in slowtrav)

thanks for taking the time to help,
dina

Hi Dina

I don't want to put a spoke in the wheel, so to speak, but have you looked at

http://www.parisvacationapartments.com/

We rented two apartments from them over Christmas week 2008. We were away for a total of 6 weeks and rented apartments in Cesky Krumlov, Prague, Rome, Venice and Paris. The ones we rented in Paris were the best and the agency was by far the best to deal with. I haven't had time to write a review of the apartments yet but would be happy to answer any questions you have. They were perfect, perfect, perfect.

I stayed in #122. You can read my report under, "Guenmai's Paris Apartment Rental Experience". Happy Travels!

dandj2,
i am going through tripadvisor now, but haven't found any.

ozzie,
i've seen their website and i LOVE their apts, but they don't do short stays - 1 week minimum.

guenmai,
i loved reading your review. seems like 122 is a great apt, but i'm worried we may be cramped, and also worried the sofa bed might be small. is it more like a double or a queen? do you remember?

thanks.

Less than a week can be a problem for many places.

I do know that IF available that www.parisperfect.com will rent for less than a week.

If you look at their website, you will find they currently have many "specials" and those that are not on "special" have a 15% Fodor's discount, if mentioned.

Enjoy your planning..

Joan

I've also stayed in #122 and while I loved the apt and the area, I couldn't see it being suitable with older children. The 1/2 bath does make it great for 4 people but if the sofa is opened there is no floor space left.

Take the first one, it should be perfect for your family. I understand that you can't find reviews BUT you are renting from a very reputable company who clearly takes pride in the apartments they have, no one ever comes back and complains about this company. I would totally trust them, if you like it and the location I'd jump on it. There just can't be a review on everything. It could be a new apartment that just came on the market, or just new for this company, you just done't know. I have rented quite a few without a review and have been extremely happpy.

Dina4-The sofa bed seemed like a double bed size as I have a double bed at home. Happy Travels!

Thanks everyone for your encouragement and validation!

I am booking the 205 apt.
You were right, Susanna. It is one of their newer apts, so there aren't any reviews.

i'll be sure to post one when we return!!
