Paris Apartment Rental advice...again

I'm interested in renting this apartment...vrbo #66158. This person has about four apartments listed on vrbo and also has a website apartment-in-france.com
Anyone ever done business with this company? What are your opinions on this apartment on rue Rivoli across from the Louvre.
Thanks again,

The property looks nice, has AC and an elevator, the price seems within reason and you are just a few steps away from the legendary hot chocolate at Angelina's.

Seamus has given you very good "positives".

My concerns with the apartment?

The tiny square shower with a curtain, that would drive me crazy flooding the floor and everything else and sticking to me when taking a shower.

The sloped ceilings, I'd probably bang my head on every time I stood up.

The bed which is against the wall apparently because there's no room for it otherwise. That mean with two people, one has to crawl over the other to get in and out of bed. Depends on whom you're with -- could be fun.

The furnishings look lovely. You won't get pushed and jostled by the crowd at the Louvre trying to see the Mona Lisa since it is hanging on 'your' living room wall ;-) That, and Angelina's are a real plus.

Before you book anything, check the apartments that we have stayed at - completely remodeled with fabulous bathrooms, very, very well located - owned by a wonderful American couple - and they have a concierge-type person who helps you 24/7 - and a cellphone and a regular phone - cable tv - yeah!

Yes Nina...I loved that Mona too. hehehe
Patrick...I noticed the small bathroom and sloped walls. Shouldn't be a problem since we aren't very big people. As far as the bed goes...well...might be fun.
I like the price, 900eu for the week and it looks pretty good. What do you all think of this location?
Thanks
Kim

I would think there might be a whole lot of noise at that location, and it's more of what I call a major area than a "neighborhood" -- something I look for in an apartment. But there is nothing wrong with the location. I think you should make a deal with the Louvre and switch out the Mona Lisas. The one in this apartment is so large compared to that dinky one they have on display in the Louvre.

Cabovacation -- those are nice apartments you mention, but since they have no one bedroom ones and they are roughly 50% higher in price, I'm not sure that's what Forest is looking for.

Forest, what are your trip dates and how many in your party, and is this your first time in Paris?

If you are by yourself or with one other person and your deadline is nearing, this could be a good choice for you.

I would find out about the noise - hopefully the owner will be truthful about it. The price is fine and the location (not my choice) is good for a first timer as it has excellent transportation, is good for walking to many sights.

Was this your first choice or have you viewed and contacted other owners? Were you looking for something in this area or did you just happen upon this apartment on VRBO?

If time is of the essence and it is available, and you don't want to seach and agonize over finding another apartment, then by all means go for it. The noise would be the main factor for me, but that may not be an issue in this apartment.

Let us know what you decide.

Wherever you stay .... you will be in Paris!

I know that people are trying to be helpful, but when someone mentions they are looking within a budget and like the idea that a place is 900 euro a week, why would someone tell him to be sure and look at other agencies that only have apartments that are at least half again that amount to double? I'm just curious what part of the budget is difficult to understand.

This seems to happen so much lately. Like when someone asks specifically about three hotels all in the 100 euro range and someone tells them about the wonderful place they stayed. When you go to the trouble of googling or looking up that place, you often find it is something that is more than double in price.

It look cozy but I couldn't undress in front of Mona....

Have you tried apts at parisbestlodge.com? His place have a more designer feel and some also include a computer with internet. You might like Studio le Marais, Studio Mazzaine,, Residence Victor Hugo or Studio Rivoli.

I rented Studio Rivoli for November. It look great and its in the perfect location. Theirry the owner is very easy to deal with and a good communicator. I also email 2 people that stayed in his places before and got glowing reviews.

For another option try http://bienvenueaparis.com, their rates are low if you are going in the winter months.

Ah, Richard, but this is a one bedroom apartment not a studio. Most wouldn't be undressing in the living room! Besides, why NOT give Mona something to smile about?

Meanwhile I just looked through all those Parisbestlodge places. Yours is one I'd consider for July -- if ONLY it had air conditioning. It's probably the first studio I've ever seen that I'd be interested in renting as there is plenty of regular seating and a big bed accessible from both sides that you don't have to fold up in the day! Even a nice shower in the tub!

Bet you'll love it!

Nina...It's just my husband and I in the apartment, first week of April, so no huge rush to book, but I want it out of the way. Actually, two apartments that I was interested in are already booked, so maybe not a bad idea to get on this now.
Richard and Patrick...I'm afraid Mona Lisa would break out into full laughter if hubby or I undress in front of the poor girl. hehehehe
I got an email from someone who actually stayed in the apartment and they loved it. She did say the shower was really small but otherwise everything else was great, and dealing with the owners was great too. That is one of my biggest concern...a little unnerving sending your visa number off to a stranger. Parisperfect was way out of my budget...but they would be my first choice if I could swing it. Parisbestlodge look good too and nice prices but I really like the idea of a separate bedroom.
I emailed the person who has actually stayed in the apartment about the noise factor. She didn't mention a problem in her initial email so hopefully it isn't a problem. Think I'll go with this one.
Thanks to everyone who replied and I'll most certainly give a report on our return.

Kim, it looks like you have everything under control regarding your apartment. I think that I just heard a BIG sign of relief! Believe me, I know the feeling well.

Now you can relax and enjoy planning what to do in Paris.
