Paris Apartment - one bedroom - Is it too late for summer

I don't know if it is the media's doom and gloom or if I have just been so busy but today I realized after getting companion ticket information that oh my we don't have a trip planned to Europe this year....I was thinking of Italy but my heart always goes back to Paris. After many trips to Paris I believe we are ready to rent an apartment. Only two of us and would like to be in the 6th. Do you think it is too late to plan for this summer? Do you have a favorite in this area with a view. Thanks in advance for your help.

Check out www.vrbo.com #58971

Looks as though it's available for half of Jiune, all but one week in July, and all of Aug.

I'm staying there in April, and don't know anything about it except for its location and excellent reviews.

Uh oh; just read that you want a view, and the above does not have that. I'd think you'd want the 7th for a view of the ET if you want a view. In the 6th mostly it will be a view of the apts. across the street.

Have you looked at ParisHideaways? "Suzette" has a lovely courtyard/garden.

You can only keep looking and see what you find, I don't think it's too late. It may be too late for the best things, of course. But I rented an apt. for the end of last Sept/Octber, which is a fairly busy period, and I didn't do it until end of July or even August. I don't expect views, however, so that may be difficult. At least not some grand view as I suspect you mean. Most apts don't have any great view.

Last year, I have been gone from the forum for a period...I should have made notes of it but didn't....It was a small apartment in the 6th. It had a wee little balcony with a table and two chairs, I don't think it was a grand view, just a street....Just need to research a bit...thank you....

We've stayed at Parisian Flat in rue Madame. It has a long, thin balcony running the length of the Dining/Living rooms. It faces a little school so you see kiddies a lot of the day. You can also see the top of the Tour Eiffel at night. It has availability in June and July. Good luck!

Hi. Not in the 6th but look at Paris Address ORLEA26.

We have booked this apt for September based on the lovely balcony with great views of the Seine and Notre Dame. The apt itself looks very comfortable and perfect for a couple. We love the Ile St.Louis for its charm and location.

It is still available most of July.

Hi returntoyourseat: If you have a specific time period why not call Vacation In Paris, they have a toll free number, you could tell them what you're interested in and they could easily tell you what may be available that would fit your needs. You could go to their website also and peruse the apartments but sometimes it's easier to give them a call. When I've wanted to book specific dates they've given me the ID numbers of available apartments that I can look at online then make my decision.

Suspaul has a good idea. I was thinking of taking a spur-of-the-moment trip, 3 weeks before my vacation time was to start, to Paris this past December and called VIP to see what was available and they were able to tell me in a few seconds. They even had two apartments available in the 7th. I was on the computer pulling up the apartments while they were telling me the availability of different ones. They're very easy to work with and I've rented through them before. Happy Travels!

We just booked an apartment this weekend. Availability was pretty good for June and we got a place on Ile St. Louis. The hardest part was finding a place with a vacancy that was willing to do a less than 7 day apartment rental during high season. We used Paris Address and, as others have reported on here and other sites, they've been great to work with so far.

Look at this link: http://www.vrbo.com/108279
I believe that it may be the apartment for which you are looking. We love this particular neighborhood, too, despite its reputation as a tourist haven.

Bon voyage...

We stayed at this apartment last year and found it quite good; not luxurious, but good value. It's in the 5th rather than the 6th but we really liked the area. It has a tiny balcony, with a views across rue des écoles. Good local shops just aroun the corner. Broadband internet and free calls to fixed lines in most western countries were included. http://www.homelidays.com/paris-05/a...at36766en1.htm

No, you are by no means too late. Have a look at homeaway.com, cyberrentals.com, or www.holiday-rentals.co.uk and you will find plenty of options.
