We are looking for a 2 bedroom apartment in a central area of Paris. It seems areas 1, 4, 5,6 & 7 are popular. Coming from Australia and arrriving 2.1.07 and departing 15.1.07. Have a budget of around 700-900 Euro's/week. 2 Adults & 2 children. Had a look at a number of web sites and was wanting help on reliable sites and contacts. Any help will be appreciated. Thank you in advance.
We stayed in a fantastic 2 bedroom apartment last February. It was on Quai des Orfevres - probably one of the best locations in Paris right on Isle de la Cite with a fantastic view of the Seine. It's within walking distance of so much - the Louvre and Notre Dame are both just a stones throw away. I would highly recommend it. The property was beautiful too - small-ish but it was fine for 5 adults (one slept on a sofa bed). The website address is www.paris4ever.com. Hope that helps. We dealt with Olivier and found him to be extremely helpful and we had no problems whatsoever.
Come on, Cailin, the OP said their budget was 700-900 Euros a week and you recommend a place for 2490 Euros. Great that you were able to stay there but your recommendation doesn't seem to answer the question asked.
I would suggest you try the homelidays.com website. Click on the British flag to get the English version, then click on advanced search. You can then specify your budget, the number of bedroom, what amenities are essential to you, and even the area of Paris you want. I've never stayed in a 2 bedroom so I can't recommend a specific apartment but I have rented an apartment through this website with no problems. You're dealing with each owner directly though, so caveat emptor.
Also try slowtrav.com for more recommendations.
Good luck

A great site to dig around on is www.vrbo.com -- sort your choices by neighborhood. I think your budget is probably too low to get two true bedrooms, but you shouldn't have a problem finding something nice that sleeps four in your budget.
I know these property managers, and would recommend their sites, too:
www.letsparis.com
www.perfectlyparis.com
Also, my friend owns this super-cute place in Montmartre, which sleeps four: http://www.vrbo.com/88567.
Hope this helps and have a great trip!

We rented from RentParis (http://www.rentparis.com/home.php?l=en) back in 2003 and were very happy. The apartment was very comfortable, clean, and exactly as described. The only problem we had was having to wait for the person to meet us there, but he had been visiting his parents (?). They have a number of apartmented listed in the EUR 100-120/night range. We stayed in number 14 on rue Charlot in the 3rd. The location was okay. There's lots of cafes and shops around, but most of the tourist stuff isn't nearby. The metro was a 5-10 min walk (if that).
Enjoy your trip,
Paul

We had a very good experience with vacationinparis.com. Though we did not need a 2BR, they have a good selection of them, and I believe they are in your price range.
Enjoy your visit to my favorite city.

Hello etonbeach,
We also used homelidays.com (it was for Italy however). Our experience was very positive dealing with an owner directly. Hope you find the same experience for Paris.
Happy travels!

Like Robdaddy, we had a very good experience renting from www.VacationInParis.som. The company is American, so the prices are listed in U.S. dollars. We found them very prefessional and reliable. There are many apartments from which to choose. We had a one-bedroom, 2 bath that slept 4; I think it was $120 U.S. per night.
I'd definitely check out homelidays.com too. They seem to be less expensive than many of the other sites. It isn't an agency - more of a clearing house for individually owned flats. Like VRBO in a way - except your first contact w/ the landlord is through homelidays. After that the owner might give you their direct e-mail address.
I've had really good luck w/ them . . . .

We stayed in this apartment.

Not two bedroom, but the lounge closes off and it's sofa pulls out into a bed.
It worked for my daughter (lounge) and I (bedroom.)
I can recommend this apartment and owner.

I am an Aussie living in the UK and own a two bedroom appartment in Paris in the 9th district, very central situation. I rent it through Gail Boisclair at www.perfectlyparis.com - you can see it on her website it is under the two bedroom appartments - called La Belle Epoque, normally it is 1150 Euros per week, if you book it for the two weeks I can rent it to you for 900 euros per week. Hope this helps

They have a good selection to choose from and the prices seem decent. I did weeks of searching and finally decided to go through them. We leave in 2 weeks for paris. I can give feedback when I return. So far they have been very friendly, helpful and easy to get a hold of, unlike some companies.
Good luck in you search.

Hi, I'm just back from a two week stay in Paris, wonderful trip. Anyway, my husband and I rented an apartment from Lodgis.com It was a one bedroom in the 5th but they have many different sizes, prices and areas to choose from. it was even better than we'd hoped - clean, bright large and well appointed. The agent was where he said he'd be when he said he'd be. Have a look at their site but one recommendation - if it's above floor 2 get a place with an elevator!
We stayed in the Place des Victoires 2 bedroom - see
parisholidayapts.com
It is 175 euro per night, but there is a 15% discount in winter.
The owner is Canadian, so communication in English is easy.

In my "potentials" file I have a place on Isle St. Louis for 700E per week that isn't 2 bedroom, but has a king in the main area, and twins in a mezzanine. We haven't been there, but it looks promising. http://www.parisabcd.com
