Please recommend a Marais apartment for 2 < €800/week

We don't know the Marais area however would like to find a nice place on the ground or first floor or accessible by lift, quiet, near shops, cafes and restaurants, comfortable bed, suitable for two. Maximum price is €800 per week.
We had decided on the apartment (www.vrbo.com/24464)rented twice by AnselAdorne and MargrietVanderBanck only to find it is not available for next October.
Thank you.

Take a look on rentparis.com. I rented a studio in the Marais a couple of years ago. I enjoyed my experience with this company. My budget was much lower so I can't recommend a specific apt., but there seems to be many to choose from in your price range in that area.

You'll love the Marais--it has everything you just described.

Good luck!

Thanks Tamara - I did check out the rentparis site. It is hard to make an informed decision from a website. I was hoping someone might have a specific recommendation.

You can read fairly detailed reviews of rental apartments in Paris (not only in the Marais) here:

Just found that slow trav website, that's great, is there something like that for London? We loved our stay in the Marais apt VRBO 79965 by the way.

The Slow Trav site has reviews for numerous cities and regions, including London. It's particularly strong for Italy, though.

I have never been that enamoured with the Slow Trav reviews of accomodations. Some seem to be very outdated, others are negative rants about unsatisfactory places. I am suspicious that some reviewers use this site to impress - "We looooved this Marais penthouse at a mere €4200 a week." Other links to the apartment are not current. Wouldn't an owner be tempted to anonomously post a positive review about his property?
Personally I put a lot more stock in reviews and recommendations by Fodorites who have a history on this board... but that is just me.

That Marais apt, is in a wonderful location, close to metro and bus. Tons of excellent food, stores, its quiet but yet everything you need is just outside the courtyard. It took just minutes to bring home fresh baked croissants in the morning. If you name it, it's there from designer to boutique. Flower stores, Antiques, Parfum, kitchen gadgets, clothing, Monoprix, Harley Davidson. There is probably something for everyone, just outside the courtyard. I liked the owner so much, she was there if you needed her, but left you alone if you wanted. She recommended excellent restaurants, and I am sure she would make reservations for you if you needed it. Metro
Chemin Vert 1 min, Metro Bastille at 3min. Incredible views walking toward Place de Vosges of moon(2-3 Min away). We plan on always staying there now. Hope that helps.

here are a couple i've had bookmarked, though i've not stayed in either. if you look closer to the 3rd arr. over the 4th, the rates should be lower. the whole area is pretty fabulous.
