Paradores - what is half board?

The Paradores website has an offer for some of its hotels where you can get 20% off half board. I've never done this before - does it include both breakfast and dinner?

Also, on the regular price list there are separate columns for breakfast and "menu". Does anyone know what "menu" means - is it dinner only?

I've never stayed in a Parador, but "half board" always means bed, breakfast and dinner; "full board" is bed, breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Menu indeed means a 3-course dinner only (for non-residents or in case you didn't take the half board option).

Laura:
I posted a similar question last spring when I was going to stay at the parador in Pontevedra.

Half board is breakfast plus a choice of lunch or dinner. Breakfast is buffet, lunch/dinner was the menu of the day (or we could pay an additional amount and order from the menu).

It was a good deal, however unless I was staying somewhere that was remote I don't think I'd do it again. We spent 3 nights in Pontevedra and did day trips to outlying areas. On 1 of the days it would have been a 45 minute drive back to the parador just to eat lunch. Then for dinner we were visiting another town. It was restricting for me not to be able to eat where and when I wanted. Just my opinion. Of course, if you were in a remote area and not plannning day trips this would work out fine.
