Cannot find recent posts lon transportation from Orly to Paris. Two with one medium suitcase each. Want the least hassle after traveling overnight from the US.

Thanks - Kate

The least hassle is to stand in line at a taxi rank and take the first available taxi.

The best of several other options depends upon the address of your hotel and how willing you are to schlep your own luggage.

People can't really advise you very well without knowing exactly where in Paris you are going.

I would take the airport bus to the Invalides and then a taxi.

According to the official Aeroports de Paris site, you should expect to pay around €40 (more if the traffic is heavy since the meter will be running).

Here's what Rick Steves (Europe Through the Back Door) advises about tipping taxi drivers: "To tip the cabbie, round up. For a typical ride, round up about 5–10 percent (to pay a €4.50 fare, give €5; for a €28 fare, give €30). If the cabbie hauls your bags and zips you to the airport to help you catch your flight, you might want to toss in a little more."

Here's some more information about Michael's recommendation. Air France bus #1* goes Orly Sud-Orly Ouest-Gare Montparnasse-Invalides-Etoile. Buses run every 30 minutes and the fare is €11.50. Don't confuse this with Air France bus #1 which only goes Orly Sud-Orly Ouest-Gare Montparnasse. These are highway buses and bags go in the luggage bay.

The fare for a taxi from Invalides to Trocadero will be around €10 so two tickets on the Air France bus plus a taxi should cost you less than a taxi all the way.

Here are some details using Marija's route.

Take the OrlyVal driverless shuttle train from the airport to the Antony RER station. Take the RER B to Denfert-Rochereau. Take Metro line 6 to Trocadero. The combined fare is €10.25.

Orly is not that far. Take a taxi, if someone moves your luggage at the bus terminal you have to tip. Yes or yes. I am saying this in accordance with personal experience but since this happened long ago may be now nobody will be around to move your luggage anyplace. Can any body confirm this >>?
