Is Orly user friendly to return rental car and train to Paris?
Thanks

I do not know about the train to Paris part, but finding the car rental parking, dropping the car off and walking the 20 or so steps to the taxi queue was about the easiest of any major airport I have used in the world.

Yes, IF you know the word for "rental returns" and the exact layout of the airport. We didn't and eventually got a EuropCar rep to lead us into the garage area. Also be sure to get the exact map of how you get TO the airport. We were quite amazed that a major airport in a major city had so few directions. But in the end, yes, once at the airport you drive directly into the garage. The taxi stand is a short walk away.

I think Orly is very easy to return rental car and then get into Paris. We were coming from the Burgundy region and there were plenty of signs to the airport, once we got there we just followed signs for car rental. It was about a one minute walk from the terminal. Outside the terminal (we never even went inside at all) there is a sign for the bus to Paris. There is a ticket machine where you can buy the tickets right there at the bus stop (last year was €5, machine took cash or credit cards ). The bus runs about every twenty minutes I think, one came about five minutes after we got there. It drops you off at a major metro stop in Paris (can't remember which one) and from there you can take the metro to your stop. I think the trip took less than a half hour.

I think there is a train but I was told this was easier and it certainly was. About the easiest and cheapest transfer from one place to another I've ever done.

I think that bus probably is easier than the RER to get into Paris from Orly. I believe it drops you off at Denfert-Rochereau stop.

Thanks to all for your input.
Was originally thinking of returning car to Fontainbleau but Orly seems much closer. Any idea on taxi fare?

Corky, I do not remember the taxi fare precisely, other than it was a lot cheaper than the taxi out to GDG. In the low 30 euro range, I am guessing.
