Paris from Beauvais

I am considering an extended weekend in Paris, flying Ryanair from Glasgow Prestwick. I've used Ryanair before so know about their strict rules and their somewhat optimistic labelling of airport locations, but I've not flown in to Beauvais before. Would anyone who has done this care to comment on the best way in/out of Paris and how long it should take. With only 3 days, I want to get a feel for the ratio of travel time to Paris time to see if it's worth it. I will appreciate any comment and/or advice.

Ryan air has buses for about 10 euro to Paris in conjunction with many flights so contact them.

Otherwise Beauvais is about an hour rail ride from the Gare du Nord in Paris.

Thanks PalenQ, the Beauvais airport website advertises connecting buses for 13 euro each way. I was more trying to get a feel for how long it takes - disembarking, waiting for the bus, transit time etc. Is the Beauvais train station close to the airport do you know?

The buses are there waiting to pick up passengers from the planes. There's not usually any wait at all, just pick up your luggage, buy a ticket in the very small arrivals area and get on the bus outside. The airport is so small that it's difficult to go wrong. The journey takes about 80 minutes and leaves you outside the Palais des Congres in Paris, from where it's easy to pick up the Metro.

According to the Beauvais Web site, buses leave 20 minutes after each flight arrives. The scheduled time (barring traffic problems) to Porte Maillot is 1hr15min.

Again according to the Web site, you would need to take a taxi to get from the airport to the train station.

Keep it simple and save money at the same time. Take the bus.

I don't know how much help I can be of, but since I live near London I take the Eurostar. It's fairly cheap (£35-40ish for one way) and only takes an hour and a half or so.

From Glasgow this is obviously not as viable. This site has some good flight info that you might find helpful http://www.travel--guide.org/Paris

Does anybody know the times for these Ryanair buses? I have an early morning flight into Paris from Rome. Leaving Rome 6:45am.

Thanks!

Thanks

Why do you need to know? You get off the plane in Beauvais, and you go get on the bus to Paris. What else can Ryanair tell you?

And you can prebook tickets through the offical airport site that I link you to.

the bus is most convenient and cheapest but there is also frequent train service Beauvais (town centre) to Gare du Nord in Paris - with metro connections there to all of Paris.

Assuming there are buses airport to Beauvais itself.

PalenQ,

There is no bus service between the airport and the train station. It's taxi only.

There is a navette between the airport and the station, according to the airport website :
http://www.aeroportbeauvais.com

The timetable is on the left hand menu, under Timetable (or Horaire des vols in French)

kenderina,

Thanks for correcting me about bus service between the aiport and Beauvais. The page on the English version of the airport Web site which describes how to reach the airport by train only gives information on taxi service between the train station and the airport.

I was curious and determined enough to download the 21-page passenger guide on the English version. It turns out that in the middle of that guide there is information about the local bus service. However, the table of contents only refers to the Beauvais-Porte Maillot shuttle.
