Opinion needed hotels

Has anyone ever stayed at the Hotel Des Bains and the Sheraton Firenze? I would appreciate a recent review of them. Price wise they are the most reasonable chain hotels that that I could find? Thanks

It may help if you put the location in the heading. If you want other hotel recommendations, besides the location, provide us with a price range.

if the sheration is the one outside of town, we stayed there and liked it.
there was a convenient free shuttle to town at the town, so we never needed our car.

i would go back if the price were right.

I stayed at the Sheraton several years ago and would never do it again! It is not close to the city and the last shuttle bus was at 6:00pm. You were locked into eating dinner in their dining room. If you stay in town to eat dinner you would have to take a local bus back and they would drop you off on the freeway so you would have to walk a good distance back to the hotel. And you know about those crazy Italian drivers! Check with the hotel regarding their shuttle. Also, they only take a certain amount of people and if there were too many, the taxi was your only option. Florence is wonderful though. Enjoy!

Lulu,
How many years ago did you stay there?
I think the shuttle runs till 9:30.
How far of a walk was it from the bus to the hotel?

lincasanova,
Did you have any problems with the shuttle. Did you take the bus at all, if you did was it that bad. I like to make my reservation as soon as possible.
Thank you

i had no problems with the shuttle but we were only there for a few days, and with children so we retired earlier than you would, perhaps!

you will need to know the times so you can judge, but it IS outside the city near a cloverleaf of a highway.

the rooms were nice, and we paid a ridiculously low price for florence, but you are the only one who can factor in the pros and cons.

good luck deciding.

OK - why is everyone answering a nearly 4 year old thread (and one that had a crummy title to begin w/)?

mike_B12: you topped the thing. I assume you are looking for info about these two hotels? You have received some good info but you'd do better to post a new thread w/ the name/location of the hotel in the title.
