One night in Vienna
We have a long 19 hour layover in Vienna and want to take the opportunity to go downtown and do a brief visit, enjoy some weinerschnitzel for dinner, and stay in a hotel. We arrive in VIE around 3 pm and leave 11 am the next day, so i think we have time. I am asking for recommendations for a nice hotel, easy transport back to airport, and near restaurant for really good weinerschitzel. Budget is flexible, but would like a quiet hotel location. I appreciate any recommendations for hotel, restaurant, for this brief visit to Vienna.

It's been a while but I had a lovely stay about 15 years ago at the Romischer Kaiser. It is conveniently located right in the heart of the city but it is a block from the main street so it was very quiet. The rooms were pretty and service was wonderful - they got me tickets to both the StaatsOpera and the Musikverein!
I had some lovely meals in nearby restaurants but I'm afraid I don't recall the names.

Café Landtmann is a bit of a landmark restaurant on the ring:

It is a coffee house as well as serving meals. However, there is good food everywhere in Vienna. If that's not convenient to where you are staying, tell us ... there will definitely be another suggestion. I spent two weeks in Vienna some ten years ago because I was doing research at the town hall library so I got to know the city a little better, and went back on a follow-up trip the next year. I didn't visit lots of restaurants as we were self-catering but I did get sort of a feel for the city near our accommodations, and I did visit a few cafés when I needed lunch.
One area that might be good for accommodation for you is Schwedenplatz. The bus from the international airport drops you directly there and there are lots of hotels in the area. It's just a short walk into the main part of town from there. It is safe and clean. I no longer have the times of buses in my head but I think you could catch an early bus to the airport the next day. We found the bus more convenient than any of the trains.
If it's running, a nice low-cost 'sight' is to take the tourist tram around the Ringstrasse. There is audio, and you can get on and off where you like. There is quite a bit to see and you get a good sense of the city by doing this.

We lived in Vienna for seven magical years, returning to the U.S. in 2019. If I found myself with a 19 hour layover in Vienna, this is what I suggest for your time frame.
Splurge on the CAT (City Airport Train) to the InnerStadt in 16 minutes, which will drop you at Wien Mitte Station. If you're hungry, take a table at Steiereck in the Stadtpark for their Schnitzel (10 minute walk from the station.)
If you're not hungry, take the U3 (Subway) at Wien Mitte to Herrengasse Station. Walk around and admire Hofburg, the Spanish Riding School, Albertina, the Inner Stadt and the State Opera House. Sit for dinner at Plachutta Opera House. I've only enjoyed Tafelspitz (a Vienna classic) at Plachutta; you could order that and a Schnitzel to share. If you're feeling low key, Augustinerkeller (beneath the Albertina) has quite good Backhendl (another Austrian classic) as well as Schnitzel. For an after dinner drink, Hotel Sacher, naturally. Uber or walk to your hotel.
Begin the following day early, with a walk through the gardens at Schoss Belvedere or Schönbrunn. If Belvedere, take the Straßenbahn (tram) to Cafe Schwarzenberg for a coffee, and then make your way to Wien Mitte for your return to VIE. If Schönbrunn, take the U4 to Wien Mitte.
