One fine day

If you had one day to spend somewhere, where would you spend it? Anywhere in Europe, small town or big city...with no travel time involved.

Assuming perfect weather...I'd say hiking in the Swiss Alps. At least, that's what I feel like today.

Tomorrow, it might well be Paris. Or Venice. Or Tuscany. Or...

Oh my, the whole world is open to me and I only have one day? This is a hard choice to make. I am torn between sitting outside in a cafe in Paris with a kir royale or a lovely trattoria in Venice with a glass of wine. The only common denominator here seems to be that liquor is involved. Hmmm?

There is an oyster-shucking stand in St. Tropez at the fish market...I wanna sit there with my husband, eat, drink a provencal rose' and ponder philosphy.

At this moment I would like to be hiking in the Bavarian Alps.

I would also enjoy riding a spirited horse in the country side of Scotland and end the day with a glass of lager at a beautiful castle and then go have a wonderful meal prepared just for me with all my favorites, enjoy lively conversation with some great new friends then go to bed under the best comfy down comforters!! ( No with new friends! ) )

The Scottish Highlands - hands down! I was there about 2 years ago and can't stop thinking about going back. It was such a spiritual thing for me. On the plane ride out of Edinburgh, I vowed (silently) that I'd be back. So here I am, planning another trip.

My second choice would be Paris.

Walking around the old town area of Annecy and then sitting on a bench near the lake watching people skating, bike riding, boating, walking their pets....
