On a Sunday

What can we do on a Sunday in Paris and in Rome? Are all stores always closed? As well as museums? Is there anything else to do than people watch?

Most museums are closed Tuesday, so go to the Louvre or d'Orsay.

Museums in Paris are open on Sundays. Brunch at Musee Jacquemart-Andre and a look around there is a nice Sunday afternoon. For shopping try the flea markets.

Also the Rue de Grenelle market

JC There are no "Paris or Rome" threads, just Europe or US etc.
Just repost under Europe, with the question
I agree with Mimi, the Marais in Paris on a Sunday. Lunch at Ma Bourgogne and shop.

Hi JC,

I suggest that since you are getting some traffic here, don't bother reposting.

Sunday in Paris:

Brunch at the Musee' Jacquemart-Andre'.
http://www.musee-jacquemart-andre.co...re/home_en.htm

If it is in the warmer months, a stroll to the Parc Monceau, follwed by a walk to the Arc de Triomph and a saunter down the Champs Elysee' to the Place Concord.

Time for an aperitif and some people watching.

Walk back to the hotel and get ready for dinner at La Fontaine de Mars, 129, rue Saint-Dominique.

I have heard that some stores are open in Rome on Sunday now, but I rather doubt it. Hopefully some other Fodorite will know for sure.

One beautiful thing to do in Rome is to go to the Borghese Gardens. The park is so beautiful. Walk and see what you have not seen on other days, such as the fountains. You will find restaurant and cafes open. Check out the piazza's you haven't had time to see. I am sure once you are in Rome you will find plenty of things to keep you busy. Maybe go see the Villa de Este. That would be a nice way to spend a Sunday afternoon. Have fun!

Sorry for the duplicate posts... I thought I posted them under France and Italy but they all came under Europe.
Anyway, great suggestions, thanks! What a blessing that we will be in Paris first Sunday of April!
