Where is the best dining experience at O'Hare? In the airport itself, the Hilton or somewhere nearby?



I thought I might get a better response on the Italy forum but what really shocked me is the quantity of postings advertising a whole load of dubious products. They all get removed in due course but a genuine posting almost gets lost in all the trash.

Doubt you will get any info here - you should be in the US liked to Illinois.

Try the air travel forum, nochblad, lots of folks here travel through ORD and may have comments. Or, alternatively, check FlyerTalk. People there are rabid about One Flew South (restaurant) in Atlanta and I'll wager the same will happen for ORD.

Rick Bayless' place in Terminal 1, Tortas Frontera, is easily the best sandwich to be had in the area. Really tasty stuff.

Wolfgang Puck has 3 or 4 locations scattered throughout the airport. Not a bad option, either.

I've never dined at the Hilton. Good luck.

I believe the OP was referring to O'Hare airport in Chicago.
Perhaps if you post a list of restaurants at O'Hare, people who have eaten at one could respond with opinions.

try to avoid dining in hotel restaurants, a prejudice, but based on the fact that you can only be an expert in one thing

I'd second the Tortas Frontera suggestion.

If you want to leave the airport (and have the time), there are several very good restaurants in Rosemont, a short cab ride from the airport. Otherwise, Tortas Frontera and Wolfgang Puck are probably the best in-airport options.

I arrive at 11.30 and my flight back to Europe is at 19.00 roughly so I have plenty of time. I am interested in somewhere we can relax, the food is good and not feel rushed. My departure date is a Sunday.

Dined at Capital Grill couple of years ago at Thanksgiving while in a similar situation as yours. Short cab ride away from the International terminal. Perfect way to spend the few hours waiting for my Berlin flight. Was able to book table online.
