Odd Question - Looking for Appliance Stores?
Where can I find an appliance store, or any other store, that would carry desk fans? I use an oscillating fan when I sleep at home for the "white noise" and the air circulation, I live in Florida where it is very humid, and I would like to have one during my trip to Ireland. I do not want to have to pack a small one in my suitcase and take up space so I thought I would try to purchase a fan after I get to Ireland. We will be arriving in Shannon, driving to Ennis and Galway City our first day if there is somewhere we could get a fan in either of those towns. Thanks for answering what I am sure seems like a silly question.

I have been to Florida only once and except for the airconditioning I would have had to leave. The weather in the summer in Ireland is typically in the 60F range and cooler at night and mostly low humidity. Rarely is a fan required but they are available of course in electrical and hardware stores.

Uncivilservant; Thanks for your information, I will check them out.
Sandy; Air Conditioning is something no one in Florida should live without. I know that the weather should be fine but when we were in Ireland last September I really missed the air circulation, something I have gotten so use to over my lifetime living in Florida, and just the "white noise" of the fan helps get me to sleep. Thanks for your help also.

If you can do without the fan, you might consider a travel sound machine. I also was accustomed to the white noise of a fan, but quickly discovered that did not work when I traveled. Now I use the sound machine every night. It can be purchased from the Sharper Image or Brookstone for under $100. Very lightweight, under one pound, and uses either batteries (4AA), or a plug. Also has a radio, clock, alarm, and other features. Sized for travel, less than 4"x6". I have found it a great investment in a good night's sleep.

There are Dunnes Stores in Ennis and Galway, so you might be able to find one in either. At home I use a small fan on my bedside table but have never needed one in Ireland, for some reason. I think the travel just exhausts me. Good luck!
