Hi Joan...just back from LA!

Looks like you had a great time at Reed! Say hello to Laurent and Michael for me...they were so much fun and I can tell you all had a big time that night. I suspect that having a big time with those two is never difficult!

So many of us enjoy following you through your food photos in the restaurants of Paris. Did you ever think of doing a book?

I wish I could have enjoyed that lobster and grapefruit salad more when I was there. It is so good and I regret not being able to finish it and really enjoy it.

There are those fun guys again!!! I heard from Florent today, so thanks for passing my email on to him!

I agree about the book...or you could run for mayor of Paris!

Joan, how was the food at Clos du Gormet? The pics look good but I'm wondering if you feel they are no longer a fine place for dinner. I always enjoyed food there but haven't been back since 2007 (or maybe it was 2008).

Margaretb,

I had a good lunch and I do like the place. I would give it a try for dinner.

Give Casse Noix a try, too. It is a good spot!

I just walked across the river and checked out all the lights. Don't like what they did on Champs Elysees..as others have said..looks like hula hoops!!

I took a couple pics..will post soon..

a bientot...

Did you need reservations for lunch at Casse Noix? Is it close by the apartment also?

Yes, I called this morning for a reservation. It is a very busy place. When you cross Ave de la Bourdonnais it becomes Av J Bouvard and you walk across Parc du Champ de Mars and when you cross Suffeen it becomes Rue Desaix and 1 block to rue de la Federation and left and it is right nearby on the right. A 10 minute walk perhaps...you can take the 42 bus, but seems too close for that! You need the walk, anyway!

I loved the picture of the lobster salad. I did miss not going to l'obe on this trip. The X mas decorations are something great to see! Thanks for giving us a good viewing !!

Your St Jacques looks divine. And, ending with a soufflé - looks absolute delicious! What kind of soufflé was it? Chocolate with grand marnier?

I need to make a reservation with Schmidt - L'Os a Moelle now!

I can't get to Paris soon enough. Between your wonderful posts and now Marcy's pictures of her Paris meals - it's torture I tell you. But, in a good way!

Denise, I can't believe that you did not have a souffle while here!

Where has Marcy posted her pics?

Ran into Marcy and Arlyne last evening and we chatted. They were going to Pottoka for dinner.

a bientot..

Last Day!! Went out to my breakfast place and bid farewell..but only until I return on January 23! I took a very fully packed duffle bag to the office and left it for pickup upon return. I will drop off the coat I bought at the Saturday brocante later, too!

I have packed large suitcase and now only have laptop case to pack.

Going to have lunch with Florent at his Flirt The in about an hour..after his lunch crowd leaves!

An off and on sunny day. Not really cold.

Marcy and Arlyne are thinking about Thanksgiving in Paris. Maybe Lloyd and JoAnn will plan for it, and a healthy Denise and Chaz, too! Just looked at the date and it will be November 22.

Will add a bit later...

a bientot...

All Good Things Do come To an End!!

I enjoyed. I hope others did, too. It seems many have met one another..some after many years of just not being the same place at the same time!

I will only have a short time at home until I return again on January 23.

Thanks to all who have contributed and added to the fun of doing this...

Happy holidays to all!!

a bientot....

Hi Joan,

I may suffer withdrawal symptoms when I don't have your delicious posts to enjoy every
morning. I hope you have a wonderful holiday back home and will be looking forward to your return in January. Thanks for keeping us informed on all the interesting places you dined at and the people you dined with. And thanks so much for your helpful advice on solo dining at the Crillon and the Ritz. I took your (excellent) advice and had a great time. Will be back in France in the spring of 2012 and now have some new places to try, thanks to you.
Meilleurs voeux.
