That I'm not sure. Well, I did ask for my ticket for Paris for Labor Day weekend, and they promised a voucher if the fare went down. I think that my ticket is non-refundable (presumably) -- changes are $200 per segment.
This was on AA. The ticket was $670, or something. Not cheap, but it was the cheapest I could find -- I assume that it was the most restrictive as well.

Well ira, but I'm leaving in September. You know how weird the airfare structure is. What I mean is that the underlying restrictions for the 670 and the 402 are probably the same -- the difference in price is more due to the season than to anything else. I could be wrong though.

Thanks so much. I think I'll go ahead and purchase--and then not let myself check airfares anymore, lest it goes down. I probably wouldn't mind if it went down $50--but $100 would bum me out. Just wanted some advice--have never gone that time of year before, and wasn't sure what to expect.

I think that it'd be very unlikely to get a fare for $302 (down $100 from $402). In any case, as I mentioned, check to see if the airline will issue a voucher if that's the case -- it doesn't hurt to ask.
