Non stop flights to Lisbon?

I'm looking for a long weekend getaway with my husband. We're in NYC and it seems like Lisbon could be great but I can't find any non stop flights! Am I missing something?

You didn't say when you're travelling. I think that matters. If you look at Travelocity and enter your destination/dates there is at least one nonstop flight from NYC to Lisbon on various airlines like TAP and Continental.

weird. I was on travelocity for 45 minutes trying to get a non stop and I kept coming up with nothing. I'm thinking in either April or June but I also tried for Feb. and March just to see if I could get anything and I couldn't. I'll go back again...

I may be a bit off base but from Newark I know the 2 non stop carriers are Continental and T.A.P. I know T.A.P can be found at www.tap.pt. We flew in Sept 05 to Newark using TAP on the way and due to problems with delays etc flew Continental back. Good luck finding something.

Continental and TAP fly direct from Newark. There is an excellent fare on Cheaptickets ($345 total) with Iberia to Madrid and then to Lisbon. Time between flights is very manageable.

For an April 7th departure, return April 10th, on Travelocity there is just one nonstop flight with Continental. It's so expensive at over $1,600+ but with one stop the fares are close to $650. It's a big difference. Anyway, yes, there are nonstop flights shown on Travelocity from NYC. I guess Newark is better if the fares are cheaper.

thanks guys. I realized I had been doggedly typing "JFK" departure and had not even considered Newark. Space cadet...
