KaySD,

LOL!!! Too funny!!! I hadn't thought of that, but what a great idea...hey, if personal lubricant is allowed, that's a great idea....though as I've said in another thread, Bath & Body Works lotion is my personal lubricant.

Bath & Body Works hand lotion is perhaps not my very "personal" lubricant...but if personal lubricant can be brought in the plane...I'm willing to say it is.

Hi everyone. I'm Tara. I too am a Chapstick addict.

(all chorus: "Hi Tara&quot

I took my Chapstick on the plane for a domestic flight with no problem (but I did have smlal discs of it sliced up in my wallet in case I'd needed it). It was, however, a real killer to be without hand lotion for something like 15 hours. My hubby says I practically dived for our luggage to get it off the belt in baggage claim so I could open the outer pocket that had my lotion in it.

When we fly to Europe next Spring, though, I will be in a real bind if the regulations haven't been relaxed by then. I will smuggle it on board, for sure, as a little sliced-off disc.

There is nothing more disgusting that to see someone smearing Chapstik on their face when you are trying to have sex with them! It's almost as bad as when they insist on taking the cellphone call that they've apparently been waiting for their entire life!

...put it in your pocket and walk through security...I would take off metal etc so you don't get the extra special pat down if possible...

Maybe my understanding is wrong,or just out dated, but can you not buy stuff in the duty ffee lounge and take it on board?
If so buy it at the airport after security and take it on board.

The minimus website has all kinds of small travel packets. Here's a link for the little lotion packets.

Hi bourbon! Thanks for that site. As a dry skin sufferer, I feel your pain. Especially on flights- since I had LASIK my eyes get really dry. I'm dreading the next long flight.

Hi Linda! They also have little packets of Visine. Some things you have to search for under new products, sales, etc.

LLindaC,
You can now bring your eye drops up to 4 ounces. Lotion is still out.

I must confess I smuggled a tube of lip gloss in my pocket the last time I flew. I had another one in my purse.

I meant to add that I waited to go to the lav to put the lip gloss on. Didn't want to get busted.

Lipstick and chapstick in a tube is OK. It's just the glossy stuff they don't like. That said, no one dug thru my neatly packed (in clear cosmetic bags) carry-on or patted down my pockets when I flew last week. I easily could have carried small amounts of hand lotion or lip balm.

I am a member of the Chapstick Lovers Club as well. I use the Mint (green) chapstick, and it is often hard to find, so my DH will buy 3-4 tubs if he sees it and his nightstand has a stash of it, so that when I am bemoaning "..where is my chapstick?.." he can allot me out a new tube. I have it in my purse, my nightstand, my car, my bathroom drawer, my carry on bag...my desk...

But honestly, it is the best lip fixer in the world. My lips are never flaky and gross, like some people's. Thank goodness we can now take tube chapstick again. We leave on our next trip on Sept 27. We just fly to Rome from Atlanta, so it would be horrible, but in November we fly 19 hours to Delhi India and that would be traumatic to say the least without Chapstick.

Chapstick forever!

lol, wanderlust--I, too, have chapstick stationed all around the house as well as in the car, purse, etc. Mint? Haven't seen it. I prefer the original recipe.

I think we chapstick addicts are okay:

TSA: Permitted & Prohibited Items
...You are permitted to bring solid cosmetics and personal hygiene items as such lipstick, lip balm and similar solids.

The CIA, James Bond, Mata Hari scenarios won't be necessary!
