LVSue, you forgot to tell us how many letters and give us one of the letters and its location in the word. (Not that that would help me anyway. I don't know a thing about castles.)

Sorry! 9 letters building on the L in Aliano, L is the fourth letter. The treadmill does weird things to my brain.

Good morning! Another clue:

Upset Norse heroine loses the desire for instant gratification and at last adds potter's oven to castle.

I'm sure it's that castle, or is it an archbishop's palace?, in or near Salzburg where the stone seats around the table are fitted with water sprays activated off-stage by the guide; plus a number of other little surprises that ensure a wetting.
But I would need a guidebook to be able to find the name. Maybe it's Hellbrunn??

Yes, Harzer! We used to love to take students there--they loved it!

Now I get to set one:

In this city bird food is returned to some of Edgar Allen Poe's flock: 10 letters intersecting with the seventh of Hellbrunn.

Harzer...the seventh letter in Hellbrunn is a U. I understand that your word intersects with the U, but what position is the U, in your word? Is the U the second letter? The fourth? The tenth?

That makes it too easy, doesn't it?

The 'u' in the new word is in 8th spot.

Well, it's the way we've been playing all the other words, just like we would in a real crossword puzzle. The person who guesses correctly builds on the old word, telling how many letters the new word has, what letter they are building on from the old word, and what position that letter is in the new word.

And a lot of the words haven't been what I would call easy. We've all been Googling our little tails off for some of the words. I know that I, personally, have learned a lot since we started this thing. That's why it's so much fun!

Now let me get cracking on your clue....

Yes, I understand that I was breaking with convention.

Good luck with the puzzle.
