Need Romantic Hotel in Vicenza

Will be staying in Vicenza for business during our anniversary. Upon flying in from Los Angeles should I spend the first night in Venice then drive to Vicenza? Do you know also where to stay before flying in or out of Venice. Urgent response requested, leaving in 2 weeks!

Well, There is a place 10min train ride from Venice called Mira. This is the place where you will pay only E 50/nite for a real clean decent room

I don't believe that there are ANY "romantic" hotels in Vicenza proper.

GAC

Okay, how about the nicest in Vicenza. Hotel De La Ville (Boscolo), Quality Inn, Christina, or Due Mori?

Boscolo Hotels are very, very nice, but are "business" and "tour-group" oriented, so I would not classify them as "romantic" hotels. The Due Mori is a very small, two star hotel in the old part of town, extremely convenient to the Basilica and surroundings. I'm not familiar with the other hotels. mentioned.

I stayed at the Due Mori. It was great for a two-star and for the price - good central location, clean, spacious room (for Europe), nice big window, wood furniture. But if you're looking for something 'special' you can cross it off your list. The bathroom had a funny shower and, while nice for a two-star, it wasn't exactly special.

How about Villa Michael Angelo, just a few miles outside of town. Anyone know about it?

Thanks for the honesty about the other places.
